Statement of Need
The Sirsi Corporation is no longer deceloping the C Client, the version of Workflows most widely used in the library, and will stop supporting the C Client at the end of 2007. It’s become necessary to begin the transition to the new Java client developed by the Sirsi Corporation.

Project Summary
To make the transition process as easy as possible, this team is responsible for the following:
Project Champion/Owner
The Java Client Training Project Team will report directly to the Staff Development Committee.
Project Leader/Coordinator
Christopher Waldrop will serve as project leader.
Documentation and Reporting
Trainers will capture feedback from the sessions and report them to the Project Team Leader. The project leader will report on participation and attendance, quality of discussion, key points learned, and proposed future topics to the Staff Development Committee on a basis to be determined by the team.

Related Projects and Stakeholders
The team should coordinate their efforts by working directly with other groups who support the initiative. Potential examples are the Strategy & Planning Council, the Library Management Council, the Committee Chairs, and the department leaders who support and communicate the value of training.
Budget
Funds for this initiative will be needed for materials, copying, and refreshments.
Timeline
This team will begin May 30, 2006 after approval by the Strategy & Planning Council. Training will begin Tuesday, July 18, 2006.
*The installment of the Java WorkFlows client on the main server following reindexing of Acorn is currently scheduled to take place over the July 4th Holiday.
Assessment
Assessment will be based on participation and the speed with which all departments make the transition from the C Client to the Java Client. A final report will be made to the SDC at the completion of the project.
