AGENDA:

• Guide to Libraries update group (Sue)

Group has been formed to help revise the text for the Guide to Libraries (Melinda, Teresa, Debra Stephens (CAC rep)

• Orphaned systemwide guides (Sue)

Two system-wide subject guides no longer have anyone responsible for keeping them up to date: Alerts and Career Library. Melinda agreed to ask Mary Aquila if she could update these. All agreed that it would be useful if the Alerts guide could be moved into LibGuides in the process.

• Committee reflection (all)

RSC members reflected on what we feel is positive and useful about our committee and what we would like to see changed.

Strengths:

We serve as an outlet for system-wide networking and communication with regard to reference/research service and instruction.

We provide feedback to to other committees and groups.

We offer forums as part of the Reference & Instruction Forum.

What we'd like to see changed about RSC:

We should be very selective in the projects we choose to undertake as a committee.

We would like more time for considering decisions before they are implemented.

We would like to have input on higher level decisions.

The membership composition should be reviewed. Some members question whether their participation is useful/necessary.
