RSC minutes for Monday, June 8th

Tracy Primich visited to inform and update the group about the Card Office’s plan for new VU Ids that will no longer use the SSN as identifier and the library’s plan in loading patron records into Acorn to accommodate the new Ids.

Sue presented recommendations from the LibGuides Coordinators that propose changes to the subject guides page. The recommendations were subsequently sent via email for approval or modification by 6/19. They will then be sent to the Web Management Group for review and implementation.

Julie outlined the plan for adding database information to Verde and the possibilities for Verde output to be used to create database by subject lists to eventually replace those generated by the ERes database. The committee agreed to review the list of subjects and send her any changes by the end of this month. The group also agreed to work with their colleagues to review items listed on individual subject lists by the end of July. Members should send any needed changes to Julie. Of particular concern are items, such as free websites that are not truly databases, and may be better suited to placement on a LibGuide.
