Mary Charles indicated that the 'testit' testers prefer PRIMO over the current catalog. Jody is waiting for some 'critical fixes' before it is released but there is lots of interest. Currently there is evaluation of FRBR with a conference call planned with Ex Libris on July 9.

1. Acorn reindexing timeframe

Nancy asked if we think we should reindex this summer or wait for Oracle implementation in Dec./January when we will have to reindex. The Committee recommended that we reindex following the load of NAXOS records for streaming music records.

2. RDA

Roberta reported on a Medium Heads meeting at ALA where Marjorie Bloss talked about implementation issues. More information is posted at: http://www.collectionscanada.ca/jsc/rda.html

Margorie emphasized becoming familiar with FRBR to prepare for RDA. See http://www.loc.gov/cds/FRBR.html

Roberta indicated that it looks like RDA will happen, in spite of the delays. Be sure to take the survey about the RDA product. http://www.rdaonline.org/

3. Update on PRIMO Mary Charles indicated that the 'testit' testers prefer PRIMO over the current catalog. Jody is waiting for some 'critical fixes' before it is released but there is lots of interest. Currently there is evaluation of FRBR with a conference call planned with Ex Libris on July 9.

4. Next LC meeting on the Future of Bibliographic Control

This will be web cast live from the Library of Congress on July 9. Roberta will get a room for this all day meeting (8 AM-3:30 Central time).
