Meeting Notes
Absent: Martin
- Janice updated LDC on the data gathered from Lib-QUAL. The project team is working on analysis, and should have the comments categorized in the near future. Comments will be made available at some point on the staffweb. Data analysis and presentation will take somewhat longer. Janice thought that a presentation might be ready by sometime mid-August for a proposed LMC retreat. Library Directors will be authorized for the LibQUAL directory on the G: drive so that they might take a look at the comments before the review is complete.
- Mandy reported for the Faculty Delivery Service Proposal project team. Mandy responded to questions, and the group thanked her and the team for their work. Library Directors expressed enthusiasm for moving ahead with this project expeditiously. Since an additional position will be required for the provision of this service, Flo will take back the question of possible funding sources for both the near term and on an ongoing basis.
- OUL is putting together a request for Reassessment funding to be submitted soon after the beginning of the new fiscal year. Any ideas for such funds should be submitted to Lisa in the near future. Self-check stations for Central and Peabody will be included as one of the proposed uses.
- When money is given to the library with no designated purpose it goes into a miscellaneous gift fund. John coordinates expenditures from this fund. Any suggestions for projects can be submitted to John for consideration.
- A couple of incidents (highly disruptive patron in Music; patron following student in Central) have occurred recently that have raised questions about how to communicate information related to 'problem' patrons. Library directors should distribute information about these situations to all staff. It was also agreed that incidents of theft in the libraries should be similarly communicated. A staffweb file of incidents might be maintained for tracking purposes; Flo will investigate. (Bill reported recent attempts to use the allstaff distribution list have resulted in error messages about too many names, and a number of messages have bounced for staff who are no longer here. Flo will report this to Inform.)
- Announcements
- A project team is being formed for mapping bibliographic and related data from ACORN and TV News into Primo. Another group will be set up soon that will work on the Get It process for which we'll need to analyze all of our current request and action forms. Much of this work will need to be done this summer and early fall.
- An OAK building block is being worked on which will eliminate the need for a second sign-on through EZ Proxy when linking from OAK to restricted e-resources through the proxy server. Testing is going well.
- All Management books have now been moved to the Annex. The request button for these books should become live today.
