Agenda

Meeting notes--Tracy

1) Annex space

For sake of clarity, the current Annex is referred to as the “Annex,” and the new building is referred to as the “Archives Annex.”

The Annex will be full at the end of August, 2008. Regardless of the need, no materials will be accepted for storage in the Annex after August, 2008. The Archives Annex will be ready to receive materials approximately March, 2009. Starting in March, 2009, transfers to the Annex resume. Assuming that $10,000 of reassessment money is granted to the Annex in 2009, the Annex will have seven months of growth space. Assuming additional grants of reassessment money for shelving for the Annex, transfers to the Annex will continue beyond the initial 7 month period.

2) Dreamweaver training

Training will take place during spring break, and trainers will use the latest version (CS3). Directors should take note that not all attendees of the training may have the latest version. The cost to upgrade is approximately $100. LITS has bought 17 copies of the latest version, and these will be installed in the electronic classroom for the duration of the training. After the training, they will be uninstalled, and 17 licenses will be available for the library staff.

3) Library updates and announcements

Peabody: Exploring the possibilities of utilizing the space in the lower level of the building.

S&E: Zome competition is complete. Models will be on display the week of February 25.

Central: Space for the temporary installation of art work created by students in Art 152 (Studio Art) is being explored.

Law: Martin is on the ABA accreditation committee.

Search for new UL: Several candidates will be in Nashville over the next several weeks for preliminary, confidential interviews.
