Meeting Notes
- The Staff Satisfaction Survey will be conducted once again this spring. Janet Hirt, who is on the Staff Council committee working on this, asked if we should breakdown the reporting groups differently this year. The conclusion was to keep them comparable to previous years.
- See Jan. 9 summary.
- Flo asked for input on training needs for new library directors. She described the new leader integration process that was used with David Carpenter moving to Management. This is a process conducted and facilitated by HR. Suggestions included covering the budget in some detail, tours of all the libraries, scheduled lunches with directors in groups so that they get to know each other. The goal for the directors is to bring different perspectives and expectations to our group and discussion to develop a common understanding.
- This year's budget performance will be heavily affected by dramatically increasing utilities costs. Libraries are asked to keep OUL in the loop if they have plans to spend what appear to be unused staffing dollars in particular. We may need to hold off on some of the budget flexibility this year if we look as if we're going to overspend the overall budget as a result of these much higher than anticipated prices.
- Bill and David talked about their respective renovation projects.
