2. OLE Project Update: Marshall shared the OLE final report with Council and asked for comments and feedback. The goal of the project, funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is to develop an alternative design for the current model of Integrated Library Systems, one that would change the basic institutional infrastructure in research libraries. Work continues to be done on this project. More detailed information on the OLE project will be presented at Marshall’s Brown Bag session on August 24.
3. LibQUAL+ Results Update: The LQ team continues to analyze results from the survey. Sue shared some of the charts the team has created, showing data such as services most desired by users, adequacy of service provided, comparisons of the 2009 and 2006 surveys, and other statistical information. An all-staff meeting is being planned this Fall to share these results and charts with staff. Hilary agreed to email Council similar charts she has created for Management. Sue asked Council to send her information on any changes made in each library as a result of the survey so she can track improvements. Sue thanked the entire LibQUAL+ project team and marketing group for their work on this project, with special thanks to Julie Blagojevich for producing all of the LQ charts. Of special note: we had the second best response rate of the 21 ARL institutions participating in this past session of the survey!
4. VU Tax Questionnaire for 08/09: Lisa distributed an IRS Form 990 Questionnaire that we are now required to complete for the University. Each director was asked to review pages 1-6 of the document and let her know within the next week if they have any items to include on the form. She will meet with individuals to discuss specifics and will work with the University to get any questions answered.
