• Guest: Cindy Frank, VU ITS. Discussion of the new ITS web site based on Drupal. Lessons Learned.
  • They are very happy with the new system, much easier to maintain and update.
  • Keeping the content updated is part of everyone's job responsibilities and evaluations reflect this.
  • Since they migrated all of their old site, they spent a LOT of time. They also discarded a good deal of out-dated or unneeded material.
  • Discussed project management and design choices.
• Update on recent changes to Discover Library (DL) user interface.
  • Tab label for “Articles and More” – change to “Articles & Databases”
  • Drop down label for “Entire Local Repository” – change to “All Library Collections”
  • Label for “E-Shelf” – change to “My Items” (“Guest Items” would be the default before login)—this will also require a change to the button which will take a little longer
  • On search results page, “Refine My Results” – change to “Narrow My Results By”
  • For Facets, Change “Creator” to “Author/Creator”
  • Reorder facets as follows:
    Show only:
    Author/Creator
    Subject
    Creation Date
    Resource Type
    [other facets to follow in current order]
  • For FRBRized records, change “there are [#] versions of this item” to “View [#] editions/formats of this title
  • Make suggested spelling corrections (did you mean) larger and bolder.
• Plans to deploy Drupal based forum on staffweb that will be used to continue conversations about DL.
• Plans to develop survey based on feedback from recent town hall meetings.
• Reminder that next meeting will be the last Tuesday in July and will focus on our research into digital preservation options.
