- In relation to the Primo development project, we discussed the need to develop an inventory of current delivery methods, most of which are form based. As the discussion developed, we agreed that we need to begin development of a project charge related to delivery in Primo and that part of that charge should be to re-examine the automated delivery features of Unicorn ("Demand Management") in light of the Primo concept. Flo agreed to begin work on the list of questions that need to be included in the charge. Once this is done, the DLSC will determine who are the appropriate people to include on a project team to make recommendations on delivery options. In the meantime, Dale Poulter will be able to provide a test environment with "Demand Management" after the upgrade of Unicorn this weekend.
- We discussed the communications plan for the Primo project. We should soon have access to a locally hosted copy of the proof of concept and will use that to begin development of our "internal kick-off" meeting with library staff. Marshall will begin work on a presentation of the "Primo concept" and DLSC members will provide input into development of the presentation.
- We discussed the need for web analytics. We were able to conclude that we should pursue broader use of Google analytics, in the very near term. Marshall agree to provide a demonstration of his use of this system for the TVNA site. We also agreed that we need to move quickly toward a service that would be able to provide an analysis of our historical logs (Google's service cannot do this). Jody agreed that he would ask a small group to re-survey the field in this area and recommend a process to move toward implementing a service. We also agreed that, in the longer term, we need to identify ways to have dedicated staff time for deeper analyses of web statistics.
- Jody announced that Blackboard has suggested that they may be interested in partnering with VU to further develop the "Back Pak" functionality of Blackboard. We will need more information about what would be involved before committing.
- Jody called attention to the initial feedback on the Test Pilot site related to the Heard Web Refresh project.
