• Planning rollout of VUNetID-based authentication for Acorn.

Notes:

• Jody provided an update of activities over the holidays related to the Primo development project. We are on schedule and will hold our next site visit on January 15th and 16th. This meeting will involve those directly involved in configuration of the initial installation. Others may attend, but are encouraged to contact Jody to make arrangements.
• We are very nearly ready to implement VUNetID authentication into Acorn webcat. Once implemented, users who click on the "My Account" button will be prompted to use their VUNetID and e-password to login. Those without VUNetIDs will be instructed to use their library patron id. This is a significant first step toward a campus-wide goal to significantly limit use of the SSN as an identifier. The DLSC asked Flo to request that the Communication Committee develop a rollout plan, including necessary communication to our users and a suggested date for implementation.
