Members Present: Paula Covington, Sue Erickson, Robyn Harris, Henry Shipman, Suellen Stringer-Hye, Celia Walker, Ava Wilson
Update on Marketing Campaign: Henry presented to the committee a set of posters he had assembled that are ready to be distributed on campus. The committee discussed the proper protocol to identify the most visible ongoing locations for the posters and how to best handle the distribution of the posters. Suellen routed a signup sheet and recommended each member distribute posters to three-to-five departments on campus. It was suggested that each member identify contact names of individuals who would be in agreement to put the posters up in their location in future. The goal is to have the posters posted immediately through the fall.
Update on Library News Online: Suellen presented a slide show of the Library News Online look and feel which is currently in place. Suellen pointed out that she and Jodie Gambill are working on an email option that will allow people to sign-up for an email and will redirect them to their server. There were other email features and options addressed as to what the system is capable of doing.
On the Library News online, the group agreed to replace the name, “Today’s News” with the title name “New in the Library”. The ticker will come next and the word “more” will follow.
Suellen stated that we need more ticker items. She suggested we review the current ticker and come up with additional new ticker items.
Robyn will have access to the blog.
Timelines for Working on Next Year’s Marketing Plan: The group decided that we needed to have last year’s excel spreadsheet in place by mid-July. It consists of two parts: a calendar for the types of things we want to promote throughout the year and an Excel spreadsheet. This will allow the group to look at the calendar for all the things we’re going to do and convert it into a spreadsheet.
Review of Annual Report on Wiki: The group was satisfied with the annual report online and its bulleted, more abbreviated format When finalized, it may suggest a possible model for other committees. Suellen will add a small poster picture and add a link to the poster slideshow. Suellen also requested that the group edit the report for mistakes, etc.
The Road to Vanderbilt: Sue reported that “The Road to Vanderbilt” website for incoming first year students has information on it about the library that needs to be revised. Sue plans to draft a revised text and send it to the group for their comments.
Other: The Vanderbilt View article about the University Archives will be added to the ticker.
