Topics of discussion
1. Update on video shoot
- Yesterday (12/3/08) Suellen, Michelle, Rick and Eli met in Connie’s office to do a dry run of the video. After some trial and error we are ready for Monday’s interview with Connie.
- We decided on the opening and closing screens for the videos. The opening screen with be the library blue with a white tree. The opener will say “Conversations with Connie (or whatever she wants to be called) with the staff of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library Part X.” The closer will say “Brought to you by the Communications Committee of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library” or something similar.
2. New staffweb launch and videos
- The new staff web with launch Dec 15 with the first installment of the “Conversation with Connie” video.
- We talked about asking Connie’s permission for this to go on youtube. Vanderbilt has a youtube channel and the library has a sub-channel to that.
3. Mailer
- Creative services can do the mailer we want but it will take 5-6 weeks. We would like to have the mailer mailed out the middle of February.
- Paula volunteered to collect information and write content for the mailer in the coming weeks.
4. Dean Website
- We need content for the website. Paula will forward links and info for the website as she works on the mailer
- Connie can veto what she does not like
- We need information from Connie, especially a personally written opening paragraph for the front page
- Not sure when the webpage will go up, something to discuss at the next meeting.
5. LibQual
- Connie wants a very successful LibQual survey
- Connie suggested that the Chancellor send out a message about LibQual, this is the level of participation we are looking at
- The Marketing subgroup will lead the LibQual marketing efforts with Robyn as the chair
- There is no clear date, the survey has to be scheduled around other planned surveys Spring 2009.
