- create tagging ontology for news types and audiences
- create rss feeds that pull from above ontology for use in a variety of services
- investigate creating a more attractive email distribution of news
- Enhance, consolidate and integrate news services for staff

- reformat email to increase ease of reading
- add photos to staff directory database
- Set marketing plan and schedule for 2008/2009
- Create tools that library staff can use for marketing
- Be prepared to market new services and products that are developed throughout the year
The Communications Committee was able to accomplish most of the above goals in 2008/2009. We still need to create the ability to produce multiple news feeds and come up with a more attractive way to distribute emails. Many of the last year's goals were accomplished through the creation of the new staffweb. The reformatting of email and the addition of photos to the staffweb are ongoing goals.
This year we were able to follow our marketing plan from 2007/2008 and also create an extensive campaign to highlight the arrival of the new Dean of Libraries. Additionally the CC formed a sub-group to help prepare a marketing plan for the LibQual survey.
