Meeting Minutes Nov. 14, 2006:

Present: John Haar, Janice Adlington, Mary Beth Blalock, Bill Hook, Lee Ann Lannom, Mary Prince, Carlin Sappenfield, Kathy Smith, Holling Smith-Borne, Mary Ellen Wilson.

Absent: Deborah Broadwater, Sue Davis, Deb Sommer.

1. Committee annual report. The committee approved, with additions, John’s draft of a list of our accomplishments of the past year and goals for the future that will be submitted to OUL for inclusion in a report to the staff on progress made toward the library’s strategic goals.

2. Central, Divinity, Science & Engineering, and Music expressed an interest in funding a campus-wide subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style Online at $1,500 per year. John will make a cost-sharing proposal.

3. Holling Smith-Borne demonstrated two databases that the Music Library currently has on trial: Smithsonian Global Sound and African American Song. Both databases contain sermons, poetry, rainforest sounds, and speeches by political figures that may be of interest to libraries other than Music.

4. Action plan for providing information about ejournal subscriptions. Postponed until our December meeting.
