When: Tuesday, April 1, 9 am – 10 am
Where: Law School, Burch Room (Room 150)
Agenda
1) new overdue notices, effective July 1, 2008
Background: The new fine policy will go into effect July 1, 2008. New overdue notices were drafted, and this will be the final review of those notices.
2) streamlining a recall from a faculty member
Background: When faculty log into Acorn, and view the record of an item that is currently checked out, you now see “Recall this item” button, a “Search Kudzu” button, and a “Delivery Request” button. How should the buttons be labeled? There is a possibility that, for faculty login, the “Recall” button and the “Delivery” button can be collapsed into a single button. Is this advisable? How would the procedure work?
3) troubleshooting printing problems and urgent LITS questions
What is working and not working? Would some training or a checklist on what to look for be useful?
4) Procedure clarifiations:
1) renewal of access cards
2) return of Annex materials

Bill report(goes to library only, not to patrons) This will be a list of items 55+ days overdue that need to be billed. Staff assigned responsibility for billing will get this report. They will prepare bill and then patron will get the bill notice.
2) CAC makes the following recommendations. The two current buttons ("recall" and "delivery request") should be collapsed into a single button. The button should initiate an Illiad process. The faculty delivery staff will manage the rush/recall/deliver process from start to finish. The button will be context sensitive in accordance with the following:
- If the item is checked out, or has a location of "holds," the button will read "recall for delivery."
- If the item is available for delivery, the button will read "deliver."
- If the item has a location of "in-process," "on-order," "ask Staff," "Baker hold," "verification," OR "at bindery," the button will read "rush for delivery."
Tracy has submitted the request to LITS for their estimate in regards to timing and implementation.
3) CAC would like a trouble shooting guide for printing problems. Tracy has asked LITS for assistance in developing such a guide.
4) Any faculty member from any university may have an access card that costs $5. When that is renewed, the library staff reviews the currency of the card from the faculty member's home institution and renews the card without collecting additional funds. A card issued to a member of the general public costs $20. When that card is renewed, an additional $20 is collection and the card is renewed.
Annex materials may be returned to the Annex without first being routed to the home library. When an Annex item is discharged at a library that is not the home library, the operator is instructed to route the item to the home library. Then, the home library routes the item to the Annex. The item may be returned to the Annex directly.
